Elaine Maute
Coming from a family of theoretical scientists, I have always been attracted to the abstract in art.

Abstraction can command subtle nuances of meaning that reach far beyond the everyday, mundane reality most of us live in.

I am drawn to primal shapes, iconic forms and the intricacies of geometry.

I've approached my abstract sensibilities through a variety of mediums including paintings, collage, encaustic and three dimensional  work.
